How big is baby?

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: down 11. My scale (brand new!) says 184.
How much does Baby weigh?: about an ounce and a half
Maternity clothes? but of course!
Stretch marks? same ones. Some are fading though.
Sleep: Adam snores a lot and that is hard to deal with, but I'm trying.
Best moment this week: hearing about Mel's possible twins. But above all, seeing the man who introduced Adam and me. We got the chance to thank him for so much (he's signed up for a FIFTH tour in Iraq) and tell him our awesome news. My Lord that man's eyes lit up and he smiled from ear to ear. It was so awesome to see his reaction. makes me tear up.
Movement: I try to feel for it, but I'm afraid I might be thinking about it too much.
Food cravings: Milk, spinach dip, and hawaiian rolls.
Gender: been thinking boy all along. Everyone else says girl.
Labor Signs: No, just cramps
Belly Button in or out? in
What I miss: lack of hormone swings. they are so intense sometimes!
What I am looking forward to: the next appointment in about a month and then the big u/s! and we have so many plans for the summer!

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.
Your little boy or girl has fully developed sex organs by this week, although they're still difficult to see through ultrasound. He's 3 inches long and weighs an ounce and a half, give or take a few grams. Now that the major systems are in place, the fetus will start to grow at an amazing rate. In the next month or so, he'll triple in length and reach the impressive weight of 1 pound.

How big is baby?

How far along? 13 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: So far, I'm down about 10 lbs from where I ended cycle 10. Drs office reported I'm about 185.
How much does Baby weigh?: little over half an ounce I think
Maternity clothes? Oh but of course. Found more at garage sales too!
Stretch marks? same ones. Some are fading though.
Sleep: between getting up to pee and the cat, I'm not sleeping much.
Best moment this week: Hearing the baby's heartbeat at the drs (and finding out that D and Jenny got great news. Almost a perfect day)
Movement: Just gas.
Food cravings: orange soda and kit kats. not a lot but when I want one, its time for a kit kat bar.
Gender: been thinking boy all along. Everyone else says girl.
Labor Signs: No, just cramps
Belly Button in or out? in
What I miss: having a drink now and again. But its all worth it for now!
What I am looking forward to: the next appointment in about a month and then the big u/s! And now I can pinpoint our baby's HB! I know where to look!

Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords... savor this, their non-functional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. (Much more convenient.)
At the end of this week, your baby officially enters the second trimester of development. Although only 3 inches from crown to rump and weighing just half an ounce, she looks, well, human! Her eyes have moved from the sides of her head to the front, and her ears are in their normal position. She's also got reflexes--if you prod her, she'll squirm (although you still won't feel it), and her hands and feet respond to stimuli by closing or clenching.

12 weeks and new format!

I've been stalking other blogs and have decided to switch up the format a little. Hope its also easier on the eyes. (BTW Congrats to Shannon on TWINS and Elisa for getting KU also! So happy to be able to check everyone's progress! BEAUTIFUL baby bellys abound!)

How far along? 12 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: So far, I'm down about 14 lbs from where I ended cycle 10.
How much does Baby weigh?: about half an ounce
Maternity clothes? have been since week 5. I bloated a lot.
Stretch marks? I do, but they are from my weight gain last year. Slowly starting to fade.
Sleep: UGH...sore subject. My brain doesn't shut off until I've been laying there for like 2 hours. Even after half a tylenol pm (don't want to wake up groggy).
Best moment this week: finding the baby's heartbeat on the doppler and being able to pinpoint it for a few seconds. Still can't hear it. Also beyond excited to be out of 1st tri (I'm not waiting until 13w3d for that)
Movement: Just gas.
Food cravings: still anything sour and orange soda! (Ditto, T. Sugar turns me off big time.)
Gender: been thinking boy all along. Everyone else says girl.
Labor Signs: No, just cramps
Belly Button in or out? in
What I miss: I want a steak. Nice and juicy and medium/medium well. YUMMY!
What I am looking forward to: Finding out if my boy vibes are true and our next appointment on the 26th. Not doing anything exciting but its still showing so much progress.
How big?

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.
Now measuring between 2 and 3 inches from crown to rump, the fetus is busily doing his stretching and kicking exercises. All major organs are in place, and his brain, nerves, and muscles are starting to function. Although his gender was determined at conception, external genitalia won't fully develop for another couple of weeks. At that point, a sonogram may be able to show whether you're carrying a boy or a girl--if your baby will cooperate and face the camera!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is our first Mother's day! Wishing all the happiest of moments to everyone who is or wants to be a mother.
Today started out pretty cool. Adam woke up late for work (oops! Thank God he's manager and someone could cover for him) and gave me my gift. A book about the bond between Mothers and daughters. He said "I've noticed you and your mom getting really close. I thought this would be great for you". So sweet.
Can't wait to see what else could be in store for me today. All I know, is the clothes I got yesterday don't really fit with the weather and lack of belly. They are mostly long sleeves and sweaters so it will be a while before that. Time to buy some tank tops XXL! LOL

How big is baby?

Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through. But, fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future.
As soon as your belly starts to curve outward, you'll discover that the world is full of uncertified pregnancy experts. While unsolicited comments can range from amusing ("Eat carrots or your child will be nearsighted") to downright scary ("All that exercise is hurting the baby!"), try not to let them get to you. You and your health-care provider are the best judges of appropriate pregnancy behavior. A polite "Thanks, I'll check with my doctor about that," should end the unsolicited remarks.

How big is baby?

With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)
The embryo reaches a developmental milestone at the end of this week--it has achieved its basic structural form, and will be known as a fetus (Latin for "offspring") from now until it reaches full term. Because the fetus is still curled up in a snug position in the uterus, it's hard to measure an exact length including the legs. For this reason, health professionals use the crown-to-rump measurement, or the distance from the top of the head to the buttocks. Your baby's crown-to-rump length is now about 1 1/4 inches, and she weighs less than half an ounce.
~Great to know that the bump thinks calling my child a prune is ok. Makes me wanna gag. And actually, prunes are just not what I need right now...amazing enough I can handle that job on my own. Also, the dreams can subside at any moment. Especially the sex ones. Waking up in the mood and having it go away within 10 mins is just not cool. I'd like to take advantage of it once...lol
